Harlan Collins designed all graphics and text for Roger Bellon's CD "Highlander-The Series", in addition to being marketing director for Bellchant Records and providing graphic and text material for Roger's Web Site "The Home Page Of Bellchant Music, Inc.".He has worked in the entertainment business as a composer, author, photographer and playwright for over twenty years. As a gold record earning songwriter, he has composed for Barbara Streisand and Olivia Newton-John, as well as "Sesame Street" and the classic cult film "This Is Spinal Tap". He has been a recording artist for CBS and Atlantic Records, and performed as featured musical guest on "Saturday Night Live". He also served for a time as a production coordinator in the film industry.
Collins is the author/composer of over a dozen musicals, many of which have been incorporated into the "Shadowbox" line, a family entertainment company presented on CD-ROM which he has developed with partner Roger Bellon. He produced and directed the Los Angeles premiere of his musical "Underwing" at the Matrix Theatre, and has produced a radio play of another of his pieces, "Mail Order Bride".
Additionally, Collins writes a daily newspaper feature entitled "Today's Chuckle", which is distributed nationwide by the Los Angeles Times Syndicate. "Today's Chuckle" holds the distinction of being the most widely syndicated front page feature in the world. Putnam has pubished a book of his humor.
Collins has served as corporate marketing director for Hot Hits, a compact disk company which caters to the jukebox and disk jockey industries by providing current hits in various musical formats from all the major record labels. During his tenure there he helped launch five new product lines, created and implemented their ad campaigns and marketing strategies, and designed all their graphics - everything from CD Covers and advertisements to a new company logo and trade show booths. He also created and was named director of the disk jockey division, presiding over a staff of full-time telemarketers, and selling to 60% of the available market within ten months. He has, additionally, designed corporate logos for a number of other companies.
Collins was a film and drama major at New York University. He currently lives in San Francisco with his wife Alex, and daughter Molly.
